The Gospel
God is Creator
God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them, including us. God is personal and created us to live in perfect fellowship with Him. As the Creator, He owns and has authority over all His creation (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1; Psalm 103:19)
God is Holy
God is perfectly holy – in Him, there is no darkness at all. He does not approve of or commit evil. As His creation, God requires us to be holy as well (1 John 1:5; Matthew 5:48; James 2:10).
Mankind is Sinful
All have sinned, and no one is righteous. As sinful humans, we are not able to understand, love, obey, and please God (Romans 3:10, 23).
Mankind has a Problem
God is holy and just; therefore, He punishes our sins by eternal death. We cannot save ourselves from God’s justice because simply doing good and trying to live better does not erase our sins (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 3:23; Titus 3:5).
Jesus is Savior
Jesus came to earth as God and sinless man. His death on the cross has satisfied God’s holy justice against those place their faith in Him. Thus, if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:9).
Saving Faith
Today, many people may say that they believe in Jesus, but they deny that profession in their living. Saving faith is always accompanied by repentance from sin. Repentance is agreeing with God that you are sinful, confessing your sins to Him, and consciously choosing to turn from sin and follows after Christ (in love and obedience). Believers are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, in word and deed (Isaiah 55:7; Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 17:30; 1 John 2:3; Ephesians 2:10).
